POUNDS vs INCHES

    A boot camp  student, of mine, sent me a wonderful article by LaRue E. Cook , BS,  MHA, JD. The article was called "Pounds vs Inches". In this article, he was explaining how his clients always claimed that they wanted to lose weight, when inches and fat was really what they were having a problem with. I was really interested in this article because I often times find myself dealing with this same dilemma.
    One of the things that I often tell my students is this, " If you want to lose weight, chop your leg off and you'll be around 50 pounds lighter. But now you have 2 problems, you only have 1 leg and you're still fat ". Weight is not the issue, unless you're in some type of competition where you are required to weigh a certain amount. No one knows your weight and no one cares what it is. Another saying that I use with my students is, " I bet that no one has ever walked up to you and said that you weigh good ". They may have said that you looked good but that has nothing to do with weight, that has everything to do with body composition.
   Please look up this article by LaRue E. Cook and get a true understanding of pounds vs inches. Pounds are the blame for many peoples problems when inches are the real culprit.
